Board-certified family-practice physician Dr. Yetunde Sokunbi is a physician who views her work as a calling. As a senior in high school, she was accepted to the Rice/Baylor Medical Scholars Program. She received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Rice University in 2008, and her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 2012. She completed her residency in family medicine at the Halifax Family Medicine Program in Daytona Beach, Fla. At completion of her residency training, she received Resident of the Year and Excellence in Pediatrics awards.
She currently works full time at Austin Diagnostic Clinic’s Circle C location, where she sees patients of all ages. She provides chronic-pain care management, sick visits and preventative health examinations. Her special interests include behavioral health and women’s health. She also enjoys working with medical students as a clinical assistant professor for Dell Medical School at the University of Texas.
In addition to working full time, she is also a member of the following medical societies: Travis County Medical Society, Texas Academy of Family Practice, Texas Medical Association, American Academy of Family Practice, American Board of Family Medicine, American Medical Association and Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas.
