Dr. Chad Long has been a member of Austin Gastroenterology since 2007. Dr. Long is the current board president of Austin Gastroenterology.
Dr. Long received his medical degree from the University of Chicago. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California-San Francisco, where he underwent advanced training in therapeutic procedures.
Dr. Long’s training has included research at Oxford University and results of his work have been presented at both national and international meetings. Dr. Long has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and he has authored a chapter of a major gastroenterology textbook. Dr. Long is a special physician who blends professionalism with an extremely approachable disposition and a genuine compassion for his patients. Dr. Long has special interests in colon-cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, pancreaticobiliary disease and functional bowel disease.
Dr. Long thrives on professional and personal challenges. He is an accomplished marathon runner and a 2015 Golden Gloves Boxing Champion. Most of Dr. Long’s time outside of work is devoted to his five and eight-year-old daughters.
